Engine Air Vents
For many years, several boats were fitted with engine air vents that restricted airflow into the engine room. This lack of air reduces an engines output, allows higher heat in the engine room (not good for engine aspiration air), creates a suction pressure in the engine room and can greatly shorten the effective engine life.
Our custom Engine Air Vents are hand molded and finished in our plant, then shipped via truck to you or your favorite yard for installation. Each Vent Kit consists of four (4) parts: the interior boxes and exterior vent baffles. All you provide are the labor, screws and adhesive caulking.
Key Benefits:
Lower engine room temperature
Lower engine room air pressure
Easier aspiration for the engines
Longer effective engine life
Updated aesthetics
Eliminates water and salt spray in engine room
Lower cabin suction pressure means less window and hatch leakage
The following Hatteras Yachts models have exhibited a need for greater engine room air flow, and we have experience in installing our custom Engine Air Vents in these models. Although these vents are not too difficult to install, we do recommend that you either have Slane Marine or another qualified yard to perform the installation.
Our vents, as with all Slane Marine parts, can be custom painted, finished and trimmed to your specifications to provide the perfect aesthetics for your boat.
Please use the chart below to determine the vent part number for your boat.
